In autumn, when the days slowly get shorter and the nights get colder again, farmers bring their animals back down to the valley from the alpine pastures. There is a long tradition of decorating the animals with colourful flowers, branches and ribbons as a thank you for their accident-free time on the mountain pastures. The safe arrival at the farm is also duly celebrated at the subsequent festival. In Radstadt, the cattle drive is celebrated in a special way every two years. Be there when the farmers drive their animals from the Tauernkarleiten-Alm near Untertauern across the centre of Radstadt to the Untersulzbergbauer farm. The farm festival takes place there, where you can savour regional delicacies. Folk music, Schnalzer groups and demonstrations of local crafts such as carving, pottery etc. round off the programme. A large play station from Spielwaren Oppeneiger and a bouncy castle await younger guests.
