Snowshoe hike to the Karseggalm in Grossarl.

From the Breitenebenalm car park, snowshoe uphill along the goods road or along the shortcuts through the forest to the Breitenebenalm (not open in winter). Shortly before the Breitenebenalm, you pass a game reserve. The trail continues partly through the forest and partly over snow fields to the Karseggalm (not open in winter). At the Karseggalm you can enjoy the marvellous winter landscape. Return along the same route.

From the Sonnalm, the toboggan path leads through the snow-covered coniferous forest in serpentines down to the hotel village of Zauchensee at 1,350 m. A gentle route with a constant gradient.

What could be nicer than stopping in a rustic hut after a great day of skiing or a ski tour and being pampered there? The Tiergarten Alm is at 1540 meters and there is not only the most delicious Kaiserschmarren and enjoyment with our specialties, but also the most wonderful panorama and the most magnificent view!

Ski & Wine Enjoyment Week from 14th to 21st March, 2026

During the skiing and wine tasting week from March 14 to 21, 2026, we offer our guests at the Tiergartenalm some special highlights. 

There are three lighted lanes. Our snow cannon ensures that the Railways are in top condition. At the "Rösteralm" there are snowtubes to borrow.

Ski holidays in Flachau provide guests with lots of good reasons to visit Sport Stangl. These range from hiring equipment to having their own skis or snowboard serviced to picking up a few key items for an enjoyable holiday in the Austrian Alps. 

Experience mountains and nature consciously. We have created for you in the mountain area some quiet Platzl with trendy as well as classic seating. With a dreamlike view you can relax at the Natur Platzl, Sonnen Platzl, Servus Platzl, Gamsjaga Platzl or Glockner Platzl.

Skipper and Penelope, and our coachman Sepp is like a trip into a winter wonderland.
