The Dachstein Ice Palace takes you into a mystical world of ice, deep inside the glacier. A special highlight is the throne made of ice, where visitors can take a seat and take an unforgettable photo in the fascinating icy landscape.

A nice, comfortable ride up to the middle station of the „Rote 8er“ gondola takes you to the heart of  WAGRAINi's Winterworld.
WAGRAINi will be there when you have your first go at skiing. Try the magic carpet, before you make your first little turns down to WAGRAINi or to the Edelweiß Lift. The loooooooooooooong forest magic carpet takes you to the tubing slope where you can also find the Kids Beginners’ Snowpark. It gets creative in WAGRAINI's dwarf house : painting, handicrafts, picture books etc…. Warm yourself up before you go back out for more fun in the snow. Mum, Dad, Granny, Grandpa... we look after you too! Even if you don’t ski, you can take your pushchair or your sledge in the „Rote 8er“ gondola and have a fun time in the snow. When the sun sets in the province of Salzburg, it really gets started on the slopes! Thanks to good lighting, you can also exercise skiing and snowboarding at late hours. You also need the proper ski equipment? You can find a large selection of rental equipment opposite to the 8-jet cable car in the ski rental of INTERSPORT & Skischool Sport am Jet . And if you´re satisfied by your rental board or ski, you can buy it – the rental fee will be credited to the purchase price.

You want to explore the beautiful nature in Flachau? Then remember to take your cross-country skis along! A 40-kilometer cross-country trail network lures fans to the province of Salzburg. The Ski & Snowboard School of INTERSPORT Sport am Jet offers skiers a special service: In the evening you can easily leave your equipment in the depot and pick it up the next morning.

The best part: You can slip into warm, dry boots in the morning – a wonderful start into the day!

Winter Recreation in Filzmoos

Filzmoos is a winter paradise for the entire family. Perfectly groomed slopes of all difficulty levels will delight skilled carvers and riders. The wide slope and open terrain are perfect for children, rookies and returners. Those wanting to demonstrate their skills can do so on the Michaela-Kirchgasser-FIS-run. Cross country skiers will not miss out in Filzmoos either. The high altitude cross country track with 16 km on the Rossbrand mountain is easily accessible with the Papageno cablecar. Skigebiete-test.de has awared Filzmoos "TOP skia area" in the category "skiareas with up to 20 kilometers".

At the Rauchkopfhütte our guests can enjoy a range of traditional Austrian and international home-made dishes served in a cosy alpine environment, boasting with character. The atmosphere is enhanced by wonderful views of the mountains from all corners, rustic interiors, occasional live music and winter sports on television. We take pride in our food and service, and do our best to ensure that our guests have a nice and comfortable stay.

Rauchkopfhütte offers inside tables, a bar, a wintergarden and three other outdoor terraces where our guests can eat, drink, relax, socialise and enjoy the sun shine with magnificent views. Our indoor restaurant and wintergarden have captured the traditional Austrian alpine atmosphere. They have tables which are protected from the wind and the cold, whereas the wintergarden has a hydraulic glass roof which opens up to convert it into an additional outside space, ideal when it is sunny but maybe a bit windy. The outdoor terraces have tables, comfortable sun beds and beach chairs which can be used for drinking and relaxing in the sun.

Our wintergarden is dedicated to non-smokers, but smoking is allowed at the bar. Rauchkopfhütte is also ideal for non-skiers who want to enjoy the food, panorama and sun shine, within easy reach from the ski-lift.
