Ski & Wine Enjoyment Week at the Karbachalm – pleasure meets skiing fun

In the Hochkönig region, the Ski and Wine Enjoyment Week from 17 to 22 March invites you to enjoy special culinary experiences. Skiing fun is combined with fine food and exquisite wines.

Kick-off on 16th March 2025 with the ski hut roas and the Highest Farmers' Market in the Alps in Ski amadé
The event kicks off with the ski hut roas and the Highest Farmers' Market in the Alps. Regional delicacies such as meat doughnuts and lamb roasts are served at the Karbachalm, accompanied by the Gastein Perchtenmusi. Perfect opportunities to combine enjoyment and winter sports.

Culinary highlights at the Karbachalm from 17.03. – 22.03.2025
During the enjoyment week, the Karbachalm team conjures up an exclusive menu that leaves nothing to be desired:

► Parmesan foam soup with prosciutto crostini
► A dozen prawns in tomato butter with fresh, crispy root bread
► Two kinds of Hüttau Wagyu beef on cream polenta and stewed tomatoes

Top wines from Austria
A special highlight is the wine tasting with the Gemeiner winery from Purbach am Neusiedlersee. The focus here is on exquisite Austrian wines that harmonise perfectly with the dishes and round off the moment of pleasure.

Surrounded by the Dachstein massif and the Schladminger Tauern, the restaurant Die Landalm is idyllically located in the picturesque nature of the Schladming district of Untertal. The more than 300 year old farmhouse was restored with great attention to detail and today it promises enjoyment in a very special atmosphere.

The fact that special emphasis was placed on the preservation of the original construction during the restoration can be seen in the old wooden beams and the polished floorboards. It is these warm wood tones in combination with carefully selected elements that give the Landalm its unique character.

The way in which head chef Peter Graf combines the various flavors from Austria is also unique. Fresh, regional products are creatively combined with herbs from the hotel's own garden. This is how culinary delights are created again and again that are known far beyond the borders of the Schladming-Dachstein region.

A marvellous mountain backdrop and great views to the Dachstein – the Kaiblingalm is probably one of the most beautiful spots of all Styrian ski resorts. Easy to reach by the Alm 6er chairlift, one of Austria’s most modern and comfortable chairlifts: it is detachable, equipped with orange protection covers (“bubbles”), and has heated leather seats. Its base station is at 1,600 m, taking you up to an elevation of 1,950 m.

Was die österreichischen Profi-Skispringer in höchster Vollendung zeigen, können nun auch Hobbysportler im Ansatz erlernen. Den Teilnehmern werden nach und nach wichtige Grundbegriffe in Bezug auf materiallehre, Imitationstraining und Sprungtechnik beigebracht. Das Skisprungmaterial wird auf jeden Einzelnen angepasst und von der Skisprungschule zur Verfügung gestellt. Bei den wöchentlichen Schnupperkursen gehen die Teilnehmer mit den eigenen Alpin-Skiern über den Schanzentisch.

The Landgasthof Bertahof in Bad Hofgastein has been located amidst the old trees and in the heart of the Gastein Valley for over 350 years. This family-run and cozy restaurant has an extraordinary reputation! Enjoy and feel good: that is the maxim for Bertahof guests.

The Bertahof is listed in Gault Millau and has received the award "very good cuisine that offers more than the everyday" since 2009.

Above all, the lamb, mostly from our own breeding, or the fresh fish from our own pond, make a visit to the Bertahof a culinary experience. Chef Robert Granitzer only uses fresh, seasonal products from the region.

The culinary offer ranges from creatively prepared regional specialties to Mediterranean delicacies and international classics.

The Bertahof has been awarded the AMA gastro seal for the use of products from surrounding regions and from Austria.
