As part of the Ski and Wine Enjoyment Week, the pleasure partner hotels put together unique packages for wine lovers and thus ensure exceptional enjoyment. The pleasure partner huts directly in the ski areas also offer special culinary delights for this occasion. In particular, the subject of enjoying wine was promoted at Ski amadé as part of a cooperation with Austria Wine Marketing. Special attention is paid to the quality and regionality of the products. The highlight of the week are the special offers – whether it's a gondola dinner, a gourmet gala or wine tasting in the ski huts – there were special offers for guests at a total of 25 locations.
At the same time, the very popular Highest Farmer's Market in the Alps took place in Ski amadé. A huge range of regional products was offered in over 15 ski huts – from bacon to cheese, venison salami, farmer's bread and many other delicacies – everything could also be tasted and taken away.
Are you wondering which criteria are used to select the partner huts for Ski and Wine Enjoyment in Ski amadé? What is particularly important to us is a wide range of Austrian wines, warm and professional service and exquisite regional dishes made from local products. The partner companies are marked with a certification plaque in the entrance area – if you discover them in a hut, then you are definitely on the right culinary track. 😉
Now I will introduce you to my absolute favorites from the culinary highlight of the winter season:
1. The Deantnerin
In the modern "Deanterin" directly in Dienten am Hochkönig, head chef Roman spoils the guests with regional delicacies – always freshly prepared! The Almbutler take care of the wine accompaniment, they always have a good glass of wine to offer, optionally from Austria, South Tyrol, Germany or Italy. As a special offer during the Ski and Wine Enjoyment Week, they had organic lamb with vegetables, mint and thyme jus – a wonderful treat!
2. Du & I Alm
For me, the “Du & I Alm” is an absolute feel-good hut! It invites you to unbuckle your skis and switch off – you immediately feel wonderfully cared for. Especially the area with the panoramic windows with a great view of the Dachstein massif is a real eye-catcher. During the Ski and Wine Enjoyment Week there was a great wine presentation including tasting and unique Styrian tapas – a big recommendation!
3. Schafalm
The “Schafalm” is one of the most legendary huts on the Planai – the focus here is primarily on their love of good food and fine wines. In the last week, particular attention has been paid to regional dishes – I can particularly recommend the pork roast with dumplings and Sauerkraut and the homemade Kaiserschmarrn with roasted plums.
4. Tom Almhütte
The “Tom Almhütte” in Maria Alm am Hochkönig was also able to convince with culinary delicacies and great events in the last week. The special combination of modern architecture and rustic hut charm is convincing. At the “Tom Almhütte”, the Ski and Wine Enjoyment Week was called "Winzerweek" and special dishes from different Austrian winegrowers were offered every day – a real highlight! On Sunday, March 12th, they were also represented with a stand at the Highest Farmer's Market in the Alps – the unique culinary week ended with typical home cooking and live music.
Now you know my very personal favorites from this year's Ski and Wine Enjoyment Week. I'm already looking forward to a new edition next year – will you be there too? 😊
