From Schladming to Gastein, the winter sports regions are also highly promising when it comes to Advent markets. They boast numerous thought-provoking Advent markets with plenty on offer for visitors. Here, you cannot only buy unique handicrafts and listen to traditional songs, but you can also just simply drink a mulled wine and sample some of the many culinary delights. So seriously, who does not enjoy doing this?
So, if you should need one more excursion between now and Christmas Eve or if you are simply looking for a place, where you can really start to get into the Christmas mood, then we have the following selection of Advent market tips for you:
The Licht Advent (The Advent of Light) in the Pongauer district of St.Johann welcomes its guests in its park, filled with Christmas lights, where you can drink mulled wine and punch and eat freshly made sweet or savoury donuts.
We especially recommend the homemade liquors, jams and pestos, as well as the hearty “Zwetschgenpofesen“, a sweet bread filled with plum jam, from the Genuss Spechts Günther Felber.
Besides the culinary treats, visitors can also enjoy some culture at the Advent of Light and can listen to various concerts and performances, and both traditional and alternative Christmas sounds.
From wind instruments and pastoral plays to folk and swing music – from traditional to modern, there is something for every music taste!
The gates to the Advent of Light are still open until the 23.12.2018, from Thursdays to Sundays (Thursday and Friday from 2pm to 8pm and Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays from 12pm to 8pm). There is no entry fee!
