Starting point: Car park next to the valley station of the Goldbergbahn in Sportgastein.
Piste ski tour course: Ascent with the Goldbergbahn I - the actual climb begins at the lift mid-station. From here, you will follow the signposted route along the piste S6 up to the mountain station. At the beginning there are still somewhat steeper slopes to overcome, then it continues over a flat, undulating terrain before taking the last mediumsteep ascent to the mountain station. The summit of the Kreuzkogel can be reached in around 5 minutes from the mountain station.

Route description

The starting point of the ski tour is the middle station of the Goldberg cable car. From the valley, you can easily take the gondola and strap on your touring skis at the top. Walk uphill along the left-hand edge of the S6 piste towards the mountain station. Good news: Although the tour starts off on steep slopes, you then glide over largely flat terrain up to the mountain station. Enough of a breather to master the final five-minute ascent to the summit cross.

Then the highlight: while the mountain sun tickles your nose, you marvel and marvel... and simply can't get enough of the sight of the majestic 3,000 metre peaks.

Ascents along the designated ascent routes are only permitted during slope opening hours and
with a ski pass valid on the day of use. In addition to the regular ski passes, special ski touring
infrastructure cards can be purchased from the online shop. This card includes services such as the use
of parking and toilet facilities at the top and bottom stations. The card must be carried during the ascent
and shown when checked by the lift staff.
