The Hochwurzen lift to the summit – a mountain adventure for the whole family

Taking the Hochwurzen lift up is a real treat. The cable cars are made entirely of glass and offer a breathtaking view of the Dachstein.

Once at the top, hikers, sun worshippers and adventurers will find plenty of variety on the surrounding hiking trails. With so many different hiking routes, there is something for everyone.

The “Bankerlweg“ (The bench route)

The Hochwurzen summit lift takes you up to 1,852 metres above sea level, from where you can enjoy a unique panoramic view and countless hiking routes have their starting point. A special tip is the "Bankerlweg" trail on the Hochwurzen. True to the motto "Sit on a bench, switch off and enjoy the view", 25 original seats on the circular trail invite you to rest and pause for a moment. You can take a leisurely one-hour walk along shady, romantic forest paths without any major differences in altitude until you reach the Hochwurzen summit cable car mountain station again.

Mountain-Go Karts

Race down the 7-kilometre forest road with the Mountain Go Karts – a great experience for the whole family. The mountain go-kart rental is located directly at the bottom station of the Hochwurzen summit cable car lift in the Ski Lenz sports shop. After a short briefing by the trained team, you set off from the Hochwurzen lift top station along the 7 kilometre track down into the valley.

Karting time: approx. 20 to 30 minutes.

A homely Styrian atmosphere and culinary delights with tradition – welcome to our huts in Schladming!

After an active day on the Hochwurzen, culinary delights should not take a back seat. At our huts, guests are spoiled with local and a rich variety of dishes. Whether something filling, light or sweet, there is something here for everyone. Wonderful meals, as well as a wide range of drinks, are waiting to be tasted.
