Well known for its particular beautiful and ancient stand of stone pines

Many of the trees are 250-300 years old. "Stone Pine Magic" (Zirbenzauber) on the Graukogel. The stand of pines situated next to the top station on the leisure hiking mountain in Bad Gastein amid idyllic scenery with incredible views, are two to three hundred years and somewhat unique. 

"We want to give our guests a totally new experience with stone pines to touch, smell, taste and drink" says Schafflinger, Chief Executive Officer of Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG. For this purpose, an initial step involved creating the Stone Pine Trail (Zirbenweg) – a circular trail starting and ending at the Graukogel Lift top station. Guided tours every Friday.
